Colectica Named Official Blaise Survey System Licensor for the United States

Colectica is thrilled to announce that we have been selected by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) as the official licensor of the Blaise Survey System in the United States, effective mid-2026.

This milestone builds on our longstanding partnership with CBS and reinforces our shared commitment to advancing high-quality and standards-based survey research tools for organizations worldwide, including the established Blaise community in the United States.

Our Shared History

Colectica and CBS have collaborated closely for many years to integrate metadata standards and enhance survey workflows.

2005 - Colectica staff partnered with Blaise developer Lon Hofman in the DDI Alliance's Instrument Documentation Working Group, contributing to an open standard for representing survey specifications. This work has been incorporated into the DDI Lifecycle metadata standard.

2011 - Colectica tools added support for generating DDI Lifecycle metadata from Blaise source files, and generating Blaise source files from DDI Lifecycle metadata.

2016 - Colectica and CBS announced a collaboration to develop DDI Lifecycle tools for the Blaise Survey ecosystem.

2018 - Blaise became a distributor of Blaise Colectica Questionnaires, our metadata-first visual survey specification tool.

2020 - Blaise became a distributor of the Colectica Repository.

2026 - Colectica becomes the official Blaise licensor for the United States.
